COMPUTER ROOM - DEURALI SCHOOL

COMPUTER ROOM

DEURALI SCHOOL

End of October 2016, oHoH got the opportunity to get 6 A-brand computers shipped over to Nepal, donated by some companies from The Netherlands. It came with big flat-screens, keyboards, mouses, etc. But Nepal is Nepal and quickly this plan seemed impracticable. Due to the very strict rules Nepal has, when it comes to luxury items, a hugh tax will be charged - up to 300-400%. Whether these items are second hand or donated doesn't matter. The donation proved to be "too expensive" for us to use this generous offer.

But... At the end of November 2016 oHoH got the opportunity to fix 6 used computers, from Nepal itself, which didn't work properly anymore. It was meant to be ...!

One of our board member, with knowledge of computers, has disassembled the 6 computers completely and checked everything. Where necessary, we purchased new parts. And to complete the project, we also bought some good keyboards and computer mice.

In the absence of a computer lab, these six computers are now 'showing off' in the staff room, where students eagerly use these computers. Obviously this is not an ideal situation. Therefore oHoH decided to also help the Deurali School with this problem. In addition to the many other things that we already do for this school, this new 'computer room' is also on our 'to-do list' now.

So keep an eye on this site because there's more to come. Until that time:
