SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM - DEURALI SCHOOL

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

DEURALI SCHOOL

Since 2015 oHoH has been involved in Deurali School with our "Scholarship Program oHoH" (SPO). After having received a request from Deurali for sponsoring some children because of the poverty in the area, we visited the school and noticed many children in desperate need of some help. Children wearing torn clothes, having no textbooks or even pens to write with. It was heart breaking to see how some children were living in the area. Children living with a complete family in a small one-room house or children who didn't go to school at all because they had to help their family generating an income.

After convincing the parents about the benefits of having a good education, some children went to school for the first time. Currently, mainly young children are sent to school with the older ones having to continue to work to contribute to the family income. There is still a lot of work to do for oHoH to get the older children to attend school. But for now we are already happy that we got some children to be able to attend school.

We started with 10 scholarship children in 2015. At the beginning of 2016, at the start of the new school year, we increased our scholarship Program with ten more children. We now have 20 students in our SPO and we hope to increase this number every year.

If you want to help us by sponsoring a child please check out the scholarship pages to get more information about the program. Press the button below or go to "Scholarship" in the menu bar.
